About
Cai Macler was born in Ankara, Turkey, and grew up travelling the world, where she discovered her appreciation of stories and life from different cultures and people, and her love of ÅŸeftali meyve suyu, not peach juice (yes, ÅŸeftali meyve suyu is just peach juice in Turkish. Seven-year-old Cai did not understand this). Cai has a bachelor’s in writing from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She currently lives near Atlanta, Georgia, where, on good days, she enjoys finding new coffee shops and hiking through the mountains, or just cuddling with her cat on her bad days.
Don't ask Cai about disabled representation unless you have a few hours of free time. She has a rare subtype of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), and that discovery changed a lot of her life, including her career and passions about representation. Now, she enjoys writing her own stories with disabled and chronically ill characters.
Her first novel, The World Burned When the Dragons Left, is coming out in 2026. Check out the Novels tab to read more about it.
